Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank will be distributing meals at no charge to children 18 and under from June 8 - August 12, 2021. Through the Kids on the Go Summer Feeding Program, meals will be available to all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

“Our children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive during the summer—especially now, during the pandemic,” said LaToya Brown, Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank’s Agency & Programs Coordinator. “COVID can't stop our mission to create a hunger-free community, especially for our children. We are more committed than ever to make good, nutritious, delicious food accessible to any child in need."

With the Kids on the Go Summer Feeding Program, youth 18 and under can continue to eat healthy while school is out, at no cost. During the week, all participating sites will be providing food sufficient for 10 grab & go meals for children to enjoy. Children simply go to the feeding site to receive pre-packed breakfasts and lunches to enjoy at their convenience as the week progresses. Parents and guardians are allowed to pick up meals even when their children can’t be present.

Meals will be provided, on a first-come, first-served basis at the following times and locations:

  • Caroline Family YMCA 17422 Library Blvd., Ruther Glen, VA 22546 June 8 - August 12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 - 1:30 pm, closed July 6
