[Fredericksburg VA] May 06, 2020 – In the Fredericksburg region, one in 12 people struggle with hunger, including 1 in 9 children. The COVID-19 pandemic has compounded this issue as job disruptions, lost wages and sudden expenses due to illness have become increasingly burdensome for people who struggle to make ends meet.

That is why Circle K, Feeding America®, and the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank are partnering to help people who face hunger. Now through June 30, Circle K will donate one meal* for every fuel purchase, regardless of how much fuel is purchased. Local donations will support the FRFB’s hunger- relief efforts.

“We are thankful to Circle K for its commitment to fighting hunger in our community. the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is on the ground addressing the growing needs in our community. Circle K’s support will help to provide more meals to our neighbors in need during this unprecedented time,” said Elizabeth Gilkey, Communications Manager.

With more than 5,900 stores nationwide and 2 stores in Stafford County, Circle K will have a significant national and local impact for families in need.

“We are proud to have reached a donation of 25 million meals through our partnership with Feeding America and to extend our support to 40 million meals in this time of tremendous need in our communities,” says Brian Hannasch, President and CEO of Circle K. “I want to thank all of our employees and customers for being part of the solution in the communities where we work and live, and for helping Circle K make it easier for so many families in need during these difficult days. As we are all in this together, I am grateful we can turn to them to reach this new goal of 40 million meals. ”
