Updated: 2 days ago

WE WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE THIS PAGE AS MORE INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE

The FRFB is committed to the highest standards of food safety and personal safety for our staff, volunteers, community partners, and neighbors who receive food.

Although we do not yet know how this outbreak will impact the Fredericksburg Region, we are monitoring its status closely and doing everything we can to ensure those who depend on us continue to receive nutritious food.

We are working closely with state and local public health agencies, healthcare providers and local government to access and assess the most up-to-date information as it unfolds.

The FRFB is maintaining its regular business hours of Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm during the COVID-19 crisis. Please call (540) 371-7666 if you have any questions.

How You Can Help

Now, more than ever, we need the support of our dedicated volunteers to help us address the needs of our community during this difficult time. The FRFB is dedicated to serving our neighbors facing hunger, but we can’t do this work without you. If you’re healthy and willing to volunteer, please signup today.

All volunteers are required to wash their hands prior to participating in any food handling project, and we are limiting the total number of volunteers in our building at any given time. It is important to sign up on our website in advance to ensure we will have a project for you upon arrival. Walk-In volunteers may be asked to return at another time if the maximum number of volunteers has been met.

To ensure the highest food safety standards for our community, we are asking for monetary donations to purchase the most needed items and not encouraging community food drives. We would love for you to host a Virtual Food Drive to share your passion for the food bank with your network.

Monetary donations will make the biggest impact. In an effort to meet the needs of our community we are focusing on emergency distribution, including distribution of pre-packed TEFAP boxes. $10 can help provide 20 nourishing meals. To make a gift online, please click here, or call (540) 371-7666 x 137 to make a gift via phone.

The news reports about COVID-19 are troubling, but we have seen the strength of this community in the face of challenges. As we face this new challenge we know that together, we can keep our community safe and healthy. Please do your part in keeping our community safe by following the recommendations of the CDC for preventing illness and by staying home if you are not feeling well or showing signs of illness.

We remain passionate about our mission and ensure your trust in us is well placed. You have made a commitment to the future well-being of our community, we value that commitment and promise to continue to serve those in need throughout these challenging times.

Thank you for your confidence in our abilities and please stay well.
