Attention All Vegetable Gardeners!

Please consider planting some extra vegetable plants this year and donating some of the fruits of your labor to the food bank. Nutritious fresh vegetables are always in high demand. Our agencies and clients love to have fresh vegetables to eat during the summer months.

Food Bank sets goal of 10,000 jars of peanut butter

Girl Scouts and Brownies of all ages are helping the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank to collect peanut butter.  Join them in May.  Scout troops interested in holding a peanut butter drive, please call the food bank at 540-371-7666.  We need your help!

The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank is in need of food!!

The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank distributes more than 2.5 million pounds food and grocery products every year to more than 90 food pantries and other food assistance organizations in the Fredericksburg area, including Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George. These agencies directly feed thousands of hungry families throughout the region.

This time of year is particularly difficult for those who work seasonal jobs or struggle to pay heating bills. The food bank partners with many organizations that provide food assistance to people in many different types of crises situations; homelessness, unemployment, seasonal workers, the sick and uninsured, children in crises, low-income senior citizens.

Non-perishable donations are needed. Especially needed are canned vegetables and fruits, soups, stews, macaroni and cheese or other box dinners, tuna, peanut butter, canned meats, pasta and pasta sauces, jelly and jam, cereals, stuffing mix, rice, puddings.

Please bring all donations to the food bank located at 3631 Lee Hill Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.

LibertyTown Arts Workshops’ April exhibit is Feast for the Eyes an exhibit of Art…About Food.
